Alabama Cross Country Opens 2019 Season at Brooks Memphis Twilight on Saturday

Meet the first of four regular season outings for the Crimson Tide
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama men's and women's cross country teams will open the 2019 season at the Brooks Memphis Twilight Classic Saturday, Aug. 31, in Memphis, Tenn.
The Crimson Tide will travel 20 runners (seven men/13 women) for this weekend's meet. The women will run a 5k race at 9:20 p.m. CT with the men set to compete in a four-mile race at 10 p.m. CT. at the Mike Rose Soccer Complex.

"We are excited for the opportunity to compete and give some of our newcomers their first taste of college competition. This will be a helpful test in showing what progress has been made so far, and the preparation that still needs to be made to make this a successful season."
Leading the Lineup
- The Tide men will run juniors Paul Selden and Scott Platek, along with freshman Nick Ceci, Alex Mielke, Rich Saenz, Grady Shiflet and Jacob Wiggers
- Running for the UA women will be seniors Rebecca Buteau, Alexa Cruz, Hannah Howard, Shannon Marsh, Brittany Tolson and Haley Wright; sophomores Lauren Brackin, Leahrose Mami, Megan Patton and Riley Schelp; freshmen Jami Reed, Amaris Tyynismaa and Allison Wilson
