Alabama Opens Four-In-The-Fall with Strong Start

The Crimson Tide had both pairings advance to the next round of the tournament
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –– The Alabama men's tennis team saw a successful opening day at its home Four-In-The-Fall Tournament Friday.
After sweeping the doubles matches, the Tide won three of four singles contests to advance both pairings to the semifinals.
Each program has four players competing in pairs throughout the tournament. Each pair will play a total of three matches each round, one doubles and two singles. The duo that wins two of the three matches will advance in the compass draw.
The Competition
- Both Crimson Tide doubles pairings won their match
- Zach Foster and Roan Jones dropped just two games against Evan Duggal and Russell Lokko (Louisville Red), while Yair Sarouk and Andrii Zimokh defeated Igor Mandou Berranger and Kristian Thomas (MTSU) 6-4
- In singles play, Jones posted mirroring set scores of 6-3 to take the win over Lokko
- Zimnokh won in two sets, downing Berranger 6-4, 7-5
- After splitting the first two sets, 6-1, 6-7(6), Sarouk rallied to take a 6-1 victory in the third round to clinch the win over Thomas
