Crimson Tide Cross Country Readies for Montevallo Falcon Classic

Men’s 8K begins at 7:30 a.m. CT, followed by the women’s 5K at 8:30 a.m.
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Crimson Tide cross country team is set for its second meet of the year early Saturday morning at the Montevallo Falcon Classic in Montevallo, Ala.
The meet will be held at the University of Montevallo Cross Country Course, with the men's 8K race starting at 7:30 a.m. CT followed by the women's 5K at 8:30 a.m. Alabama will travel 10 runners (three men/seven women) for Saturday's meet.

LAST TIME OUT
- The women are coming off a victory at the Brooks Memphis Twilight Classic on Aug. 31, highlighted by two top-five finishes by freshman Allison Wilson and Rebecca Butea, who finished fourth and fifth in the 5K.
- The Crimson Tide men took third in the four-mile team standings at the Twilight Classic, thanks to four finishes within the top-25 from Jacob Wiggers (13th, 20:48.14), Grady Shiflet (17th, 21:02.23), Nick Ceci (22nd, 21:22.39) and Rich Saenz (23rd, 21:23.87).
LEADING THE LINEUP
- Alabama will travel juniors Paul Selden and Scott Platek, along with freshman Alex Mielke for the men.
- Running for the UA women will be seniors Alexa Cruz, Hannah Howard and Shannon Marsh, along with sophomores Lauren Brackin, Leahrose Mami, Sydney Milani, and Riley Schelp.
UP NEXT
After returning from Montevallo, the Crimson Tide will turn its attention to the Notre Dame Invitational, held Saturday, Oct. 1, in South Bend, Ind.
