
Alabama Soccer Takes on Vanderbilt in SEC Tournament Quarterfinals

The Crimson Tide will play the Commodores at 12 p.m. CT
ORANGE BEACH, Ala. – The Alabama soccer team will face the Vanderbilt Commodores in the Quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament, Tuesday Nov. 5 at 12 p.m. CT. This is the No. 2 seed Commodores' first game of the Tournament as they got a First Round bye. The match will be broadcasted live on SEC Network.
About Alabama
- The Tide has a current record of 10-6-3, 4-4-2 against SEC opponents in the regular season.
- Junior forward Casey Wertz leads the team with 19 points (6g-7a). Wertz concluded the 2018 season as the team's top scorer with 16 points (8g), surpassing her past total with her goal against Vanderbilt (10/31). Wertz has scored a goal in the last two consecutive games.
- This is the second time in program history that Alabama has won a SEC First Round game to continue onto the quarterfinals. The last time was eight years ago in 2011, when the Tide won 1-0 vs. South Carolina. The team would later lose in the quarterfinals to Florida, 1-2.

Scouting Vanderbilt
- Tuesday's match-up marks the 26th meeting in series history between the Tide and the Commodores. Alabama trails the all-time series 6-15-4 and this is the second meeting this season.
- Vanderbilt concluded the regular season with a record of 13-4-1 with a 6-3-1 SEC conference mark as the No. 2 seed.
- The Tigers ended its 2018 campaign with a 16-4-1 overall record, 8-1-1 in the SEC. Their season concluded in the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament with an 1-3 loss to Baylor.
- The Commodores lost in the quarterfinals of the 2018 SEC Tournament to Florida despite being the No. 1 seed entering the tournament.
- Head coach Darren Ambrose leads the team for his 5th season. Under his direction, he led the team to its first regular season SEC Championship since 1994 last season.

Nealy Martin Named SEC Co-Scholar Athlete of the Year
The Birmingham, Ala. native owns a 4.0 cumulative GPA in chemical engineering, earning both President's List and Dean's List honors throughout her time at Alabama. Martin is a three-time SEC Academic Honor Recipient and was named to the 2018 CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team. She is the fifth player in program history to receive this distinction. She was also named to the 2019 SEC Community Service Team.
