Alabama Women Finish Fourth, Men Fifth at SEC Preview Meet on Friday

Senior Nicole Gardner paces the Tide women with a ninth-place finish
AUBURN, Ala. – The Alabama women's and men's cross country teams got a first look at the course they will run on at the SEC Championships Friday as they turned in fourth- and fifth-place finishes, respectively, at the SEC Preview Meet at Indian Pines Golf Course in Auburn, Ala.
Senior Nicole Gardner was the top finisher for the Crimson Tide women, covering the 4,000-meter course in 13:55.1 to finish ninth in her first outing of the season. Senior Connor Ferrentino led the Crimson Tide men, finishing 18th in 18:56.1 in his season debut in the 6,000-meter race.
Alabama will be off the next two weekends before returning to action at the Nuttycombe Invitational, Sept. 28 at the University of Wisconsin.
