
Dismus Lokira Grabs Second SEC Weekly Honor of Season

The announcement marks the fourth weekly recognition, in the last two weeks, for the Crimson Tide
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – For the second time in three weeks, Alabama cross country's Dismus Lokira was named the Men's Runner of the Week, the Southeastern Conference announced Tuesday.
Racing at the nationally competitive Gans Creek Classic, sophomore Lokira clocked his second top-five finish, in as many meets. His 22:44.10 time was the fastest performance by an SEC student-athlete in a field of 239 runners. Alabama was not awarded weekly honors by the conference the week of Sept. 23 due to no scheduled competition.
Dismus Lokira – SEC Men's Runner of the Week
- Second conference weekly honor this season, third of his career
- Finished fourth in the 8k Gold Race at the Gans Creek Classic to lead all conference runners
- Propelled Alabama to an SEC-leading fourth-place team finish in the men's race, as the Tide knocked off 14 nationally-ranked opponents in the process
