Alabama to Face Top National Competition at Friday’s Nuttycombe Invitational

Trip to Wisconsin will give the Crimson Tide a look at the course set to host the NCAA Championships
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama cross country teams return to action Friday after a two-week break. The Crimson Tide men and women will travel to Wisconsin for the 2018 Nuttycombe Invitational, Sept. 28, at the University of Wisconsin's Zimmer Championship Course in Madison, Wis.
Considered one of the premier meets on the cross country circuit over the past decade, the 2018 Nuttycombe will once again feature a stacked field. The sixth-ranked Crimson Tide men are one of 18 top-30 men's teams scheduled to compete, including top-10 programs Northern Arizona (10, Portland (3), Iowa State (5), Colorado (7), Wisconsin (9) and Colorado State (10). The women's field features 15 top-30 programs, including top-10 New Mexico (1), Colorado (2), Boise State (5), North Carolina State (6), Wisconsin (7), Villanova (8) and Arkansas (9).
Meet Schedule
The Nuttycombe Invitational will feature a women's championship 6,000-meter race at 12:20 p.m. CT, followed by a men's championship 8,000-meter race at 1 p.m. CT. The day will open with "B" races at the same distances at 11 a.m. CT (women) and 11:40 a.m. CT (men).

"The Nuttycombe Invitational is always one of the top meets on the cross country schedule. Both the men's and women's races are loaded with top-ranked teams so this will be a very good test for us."
Next Meet: Watson Ford Invitational
Alabama will send men's and women's contingents to Mississippi College's Watson Ford Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 6, in Clinton, Miss.
