The Tide’s 12 players are split across nine different summer leagues
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Twelve members of the 2017-18 Alabama baseball team are taking part in collegiate summer leagues spread throughout the country. Below is a quick update of how some of the Crimson Tide's players are doing so far.Â
Joe Breaux | OF | Keene Swamp Bats (New England)
Joe Breaux has remained hot for the Swamp Bats, totaling 30 hits, good for second on the team. Breaux has also added 18 RBI to place second in that category, while tying for third in runs scored with 15 across his 21 games played.
Deacon Medders | RHP | Cotuit Kettleers (Cape Cod)
Deacon Medders (1-0) has continued his impressive play for the Kettleers during the summer campaign. Through seven appearances, Medders has tossed 16.0 innings and allowed only three earned runs to sport a lowly 1.69 ERA. The right-hander has notched a team-high tying two saves while collecting 11 strikeouts in his time on the mound.
Sam Praytor | C | Amsterdam Mohawks (Perfect Game)
Catcher Sam Praytor has kept up with his standout summer play, maintaining a .350 (14-40) average across 12 games of action. Praytor ranks second in walks with 10, while also tying for second in doubles at five. The Mohawks have won five of their last six games and sit atop the Eastern Division with a 14-10 record.
John Trousdale | INF | Willmar Stingers (Northwoods League)
John Trousdale's productive summer has continued for the rising-junior, as Trousdale leads the Stingers doubles (12) and runs scored (24). He is currently tied for the team-high mark in hits with 36 and is also tied for second in RBI at 16 along with walks at 18.
