FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. –– The Alabama soccer team (10-5-1, 4-4-0 SEC) dropped a tough 3-1 battle on the road Thursday to No. 11 Arkansas (8-3-3, 6-1-1 SEC).
After Arkansas found an early goal off a penalty kick in the 15th minute, the Crimson Tide's Maddie Padelski notched the equalizer in the 33rd minute off a pass from Gianna Paul. Despite an evenly paced start to the second half, Arkansas netted goals in the 63rd and 87th minute to take the win.
How It Happened
- A handball in the box led to Arkansas' first goal as Bella Field converted the attempt from the spot
- Gianna Paul would set up the Tide's tying goal at the 33rd minute, turning and running towards net before finding Padelski unmarked on the right post
- Padeslki fired a low, driven ball across the goal and into the back of the net for the 1-1 score
- Alabama paced the first half, outshooting the Razorbacks 9-4 in shots
- Vailana Tu'ua recorded the game-winning goal after sliding a ball into the back corner of the net from inside the box in the 63rd minute
- Arkansas found its final goal after Sabrina Jones played a ball over the top to Kennedy Ball in the 87th minute
- Alabama would pace the offensive stats, leading 17-15 in overall shots and 4-1 in corner kics
