
Alabama Track and Field Concludes Final Day of the Bulldog Relays

The Crimson Tide collected a trio of first-place finishes and 23 top-10 finishes to open the outdoor season
STARKVILLE, Miss. – Alabama track and field collected a trio of second-place finishes, in addition to four third-place finishes on the final day of the Bulldog Relays, concluding the opening weekend of the 2024 outdoor season.
In her collegiate debut, Aspen Arrowsmith impressed with a second-place performance in the women's javelin throw (45.25m | 148-5), while Sarah Tillotson (2:16.00) and Amani Heaven (15.99m | 52-5.5) showcased their talent with second-place finishes in the women's 800-meter run and shot put, respectively.
In total, Alabama claimed three event titles, 23 top-10 finishes and an event sweep while in Starkville, Miss., in addition to Crawford West (women's 3,000-meter) and Victoria Faber (women's pole vault) adjusting UA's all-time top-10 lists.

"I'm proud of the performances our team put together this weekend. We had multiple first-place finishes along with 23 top-10 performances and a few PRs. We swept the women's 3,000-meter, Amani (Heaven) finished first in the discus along with Victoria (Faber) taking home first in the pole vault. Aspen (Arrowsmith) also had a remarkable collegiate debut, finishing second in the javelin."

CRIMSON TIDE TOP FINISHES
- The women's 4x100-meter relay squad of Na'Taja Ballard, Amari Brown, Ariike Elijah and Milan Fields claimed a third-place finish after clocking a 45.52
- Keaton Morrison (third | 4:30.19), McKenzie Hogue (fifth | 4:35.56) and Kate Dickman (ninth | 4:44.55) gave the Tide a trio of top-10 finishes in the women's 1,500-meter run
- Morrison's time of 4:30.19 is a new personal best
- Sarah Tillotson returned a second-place finish in the women's 800-meter run after crossing the line in 2:16.00
- In the field, women's javelin duo Aspen Arrowsmith (second | 45.25m | 148-5) and Makenna Uranga (ninth | 38.15m | 125-2) collected a pair of top-10 finishes
- Nathan Cooper finished third in the men's shot put with a 16.80-meter (55-1.5) mark
- In the men's pole vault, Louis Martinez (third | 5.05m | 16-6.75) and John Landers (fifth | 4.75m | 15-7) returned a pair of top-five finishes
- With a 15.99-meter (52-5.5) throw, Amani Heaven finished second in the women's shot put
UP NEXT
- Alabama will split up next weekend, having representation at both the Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif., as well as the Battle on the Bayou in Baton Rouge, La.
