No. 19/20 Alabama Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving Defeats LSU, Splits with No. 24/RV Florida State

The Crimson Tide won a total of 19 events during the competition
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The No. 19 men's and No. 20 women's Alabama swimming and diving teams concluded their first road meet of the season Saturday as the Tide swept LSU and split with Florida State.
The Alabama women defeated Florida State 183-117 before taking a dominant win over LSU 219-81. The Tide men topped the Tigers 152-148, before dropping a narrow contest to the No. 24 Seminoles 151-149.
The women's team won 10 events led by Mackenzie Brandt, Jada Scott and Avery Wiseman, who all recorded multiple individual wins. Tommy Hagar and Charlie Hawke paced the men's squad to nine event victories on the day.

"I'm happy with how we raced today and the way we showed up for each other. This was a good step forward across the board. There is still room for improvement before we go into the Tennessee Invite, but I'm excited with how we are progressing this season."
The Women's Meet
- UA opened the meet by taking the top-two times in the 200 medley relay as Jada Scott, Kasia Norman, Kailyn Winter and Cadence Vincent recorded the win with a 1:39.49 and Ella Menear, Avery Wiseman, Gaby Van Brunt and Diana Petrkova posted a 1:40.08 for second place
- For the second consecutive meet, Mackenzie Brandt won both the 500 and 1000 freestyle as she clocked a time of 4:53.95 and 10:03.94, respectively
- Jada Scott posted a time of 54.44 to win the 100 backstroke as Gaby Van Brunt followed with the second-fastest time in the event at 54.85
- Scott (22.55) followed with the top time in the 50 free as Winter (23.08) took second in the event
- In the 100 breaststroke, Avery Wiseman clocked a time of 1:01.38 to win the race before swimming a 2:12.41 in the 200 breaststroke
- Cadence Vincent's 49.29 was the fastest time in the 100 freestyle and Diana Petkova's 2:00.81 was the fastest time in the 200 individual medley
- Vincent, Scott, Winter and Jada Surrell-Norwood clocked a 1:31.00 in the 200 free relay to sweep the relay events
The Men's Meet
- Tommy Hagar, Trey Sheils, Tim Korstanje and Ben Hines posted a time of 1:27.95 to win the 200 medley relay
- Charlie Hawke closed the 200 freestyle with a 24.72 50-yard freestyle split to claim the top time with a 1:37.32
- Hawke followed with a 4:23.32 in the 500 free to win the event
- For the second time this season, Hagar recorded three individual victories
- Hagar dominated the 200 butterfly, recording the fastest time in the event by over a second and a half at 1:46.94, before taking the top time in the 200 backstroke with a 1:45.87 and the 200 individual medley with a 1:49.47
- Michael Deans went 1:59.40 to win the 200 breaststroke, while Tim Korstanje went 47.40 to win the 100 butterfly
- Zarek Wilson, Korstanje, Hawke and Hines closed the meet with a win in the 200 freestyle relay with a 1:19.56

- The Crimson Tide diving unit will return home for a meet on Nov. 10
- The team will host Western Florida at 5 p.m. CT at the Alabama Aquatic Center
