Alabama Women to Run at Blazer Classic Friday

18 Crimson Tide runners will be in action in the final meet of the regular season
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women's cross country team will compete at UAB's Blazer Classic Friday, Oct. 12. The Crimson Tide will travel 18 student-athletes for Friday's meet that will be held at the Montevallo Cross Country Course in Montevallo, Ala. The 6,000-meter race will begin at 9:30 a.m. CT.
Alabama Entries
Eighteen Crimson Tide runners are scheduled to compete at the Blazer Classic: Seniors Nicole Gardner, Brianna Koshy and Kaitlin York; juniors Caroline Brooks, Rebecca Buteau, Alexa Cruz, Esther Gitahi, Brittany Tolson, Haley Wright and McKenzie Yanek; sophomores Maddie Dearborn, Shannon Marsh and Eliza Witherspoon and freshmen Rebecca Billman, Lauren Brackin, Leahrose Mami, Megan Patton and Riley Schelp.
Schedule Change
Both the Crimson Tide men and women were scheduled to compete at the Florida State Invitational in Tallahassee, Fla., on Friday but that meet was cancelled due to Hurricane Michael. As a result of the cancellation, the Crimson Tide men will not compete this weekend.
Next Meet: SEC Championships
The Alabama cross country teams will open the 2018 postseason at the Southeastern Conference Cross Country Championships Friday, Oct. 26, at Auburn University. The women's 6,000-meter race will open the day at 9 a.m. CT, followed by the men's 8,000-meter race at 10 a.m. This year's SEC meet will be run at the Indian Pines Golf Course in Auburn, Ala.
