BATON ROUGE, La. - The Alabama soccer team suffered a 7-0 loss at the hands of the No. 19 ranked LSU Tigers Sunday afternoon. LSU found the net three times in the first half and added four more in the second to secure the Southeastern Conference Western Division victory. After the day, the Crimson Tide moved to 8-5-1 overall and 3-3 in SEC play.

"We just have to find a way to play better on Sunday's," head coach Todd Bramble said. "For as well and consistent we have played on Friday's we have been just as inconsistent and unsuccessful on Sundays."

Malorie Rutledge led the charge for LSU by recording a hat trick and handing out an assist. Rutledge scored the first two goals of the contest, starting things off with a tally in the fifth minute. Rutledge recorded the hat trick with her third goal 30 seconds into the second half.

Michelle Makasini added two goals for the Tigers, who improve to 10-2-0 on the season and 4-2 in league play. Makasini netted the third and sixth goal of the game and assisted on the final tally for LSU.

Rachel Yepez also tallied goal and handed out an assist while Roslyn Jones netted the last goal for the Tigers. Melissa Clarke led the Tigers with two assists.

LSU out-shot Alabama 20-3. Alabama goalkeeper Kara Gudmens split time with Karen Lansden. Each Tide keeper made four saves while Gudmens allowed three goals and Lansden was beat four times, playing 45 minutes each.

The Crimson Tide will return home for two matches. Alabama will face South Carolina on Friday, Oct. 17 at 7:00 p.m. and then take on No. 12 ranked Florida at 1:00 p.m. on Oct. 19.
