Preuitt’s first career home run makes the difference as Montana Fouts strikes out 12
COLUMBIA, Mo. – A fourth-inning grand slam with two outs from freshman Larissa Preuitt was the difference in a 4-0 shutout for Alabama over Missouri in the series opener Friday night at Mizzou Softball Stadium.
Alabama (25-10, 3-4 SEC) and Missouri (21-15, 1-9 SEC) were scoreless until a two-out grand slam from Preuitt in the top of the fourth got the Crimson Tide on the board. The Tigers struggled against Montana Fouts (12-6), held to just two hits and one walk with 12 strikeouts, getting a runner into scoring position just twice. Kenleigh Cahalan and Ally Shipman each went 2-for-3, while Preuitt's grand slam was her first career home run.

From Head Coach Patrick Murphy
"It was a dominating performance from Montana and the biggest hit in Larissa's career so far. It couldn't have happened at a better time, we absolutely needed it. For her to come through as a freshman with two outs and the bases loaded was huge. The trajectory of the team is looking good."
