Alabama Women’s Tennis Catching Up with the Crimson: Jacqueline Pelletier

With the school year underway, Alabama's Women's Tennis Q&A's will be conducted throughout the fall to introduce and catch up with players on the team. The next player introduced is Jacqueline Pelletier, a sophomore from Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
What inspired you to play tennis?
My mom and dad hit together sometimes and my brothers and I would have fun chasing around the tennis balls.
Why did you choose to play collegiate tennis?
I enjoy the trials and joys of the sport, to be able to share this journey with teammates is a really unique blessing that college tennis offers.
Why did you decide to come and compete for The University of Alabama?
When I met the coaches they were very professional, passionate, and dedicated. I knew this would be a place I could really grow as a person and make an on others.
What do you like most about the University of Alabama?
The incredible support that comes from the Tuscaloosa community and my relationships with my teammates.
Do you prefer playing singles or doubles? Why?
For the college format, it's really great to be competing individually side by side five other teammates in singles and contribute to an energy much greater than yourself.
What are some of your personal and team goals for this upcoming season?
As a team we are currently building a great culture and together I am really excited to see what we can accomplish by pushing each other.
What motivates you?
My motivation stems from my faith, which drives me to give my best in all I do.
What is the greatest part about being a student-athlete for The University of Alabama?
I would have to say all of the staff, they make it possible for us to maximize our opportunities both on and off the court.
What are some of your hobbies outside of tennis?
I like to read, go on bike rides, and spend time with family. I also like to walk our dogs, they are pugs, pug lover for life!
What advice would you give to young tennis players?
To be thankful for the opportunity to play and see the games challenge as a way to develop as a person.
What do you plan to do with your tennis career after your career ends here at The University of Alabama?
I would like to play some women's pro events and keep the door open to pursuing a pro career.
