
Jennings, Alabama Hold Second Round Leads at Folds of Honor Collegiate

William Jennings carded a career-best round on moving day to lift the Crimson Tide
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Starting his first career tournament, sophomore William Jennings carded a second-round score of 4-under par 67 to help the No. 18 Alabama men's golf team keep the overall lead after 36 holes played at the Folds of Honor Collegiate. The Crimson Tide is the only team under par in the 15-team field at 3-under par 565 (285-280) and is three strokes ahead of No. 43 Notre Dame (E) heading into Wednesday's third and final round.
In total, four UA golfers were at or below par during Tuesday's second round of action. Jennings was joined by Connor Brown, Jonathan Griz and Jack Mitchell, who each carded even par rounds on day two.
The third and final round of the Folds of Honor will be televised on the Golf Channel, airing live from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. CT and then again from 3:30 p.m.-6 p.m. CT.
Individual Highlights
- William Jennings' round of 4-under par 67 was tied for the best round on Tuesday, matching Missouri's Trent Mieri
- Jennings, who posted a 36-hole total of 138 (71-67), holds a one stroke lead over Notre Dame's Calen Sanderson
- Jonathan Griz is tied with four other players for third overall with a 1-under par 141 (70-71)
- The Tide duo is two of just five golfers who are currently under par after two rounds and the only teammates to achieve the feat
- Jack Mitchell has recorded pars in back-to-back rounds and is in a tie for seventh overall at even par 142 (71-71)
- Connor Brown is also in the clubhouse in 13th overall, making Alabama the only team in the field with four top-15 individuals, at 2-over par 144 (73-71)
- Jennings and Mitchell are tied for the individual lead in par 4 scoring (-1. 3.95)
- Griz leads the field on par 3 holes (-3, 2.63) while Connor Brown (28) and Jennings (27) are the top two golfers in total pars made, respectively
- Nick Gross rounds out the Tide starting five with a score of 13-over 154 (74-80)

- The Crimson Tide holds a three-stroke lead on No. 43 Notre Dame (E)
- Kansas (+7) is in third, followed by Grand Valley State (+8) and No. 30 Cal (+12) to round out the top five teams, respectively

- The Folds of Honor Collegiate was created to benefit the non-profit organization, Folds of Honor, that provides educational scholarships to the spouses and children of military members who have fallen or been disabled while serving in the United States Armed Forces
