TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – A late rally from Alabama’s Jacob Olar and Andrii Zimnokh would fall short as the UA duo concluded the six-day ITA Fall Regional Championships on Tuesday as the tournament’s doubles runner-up.
Olar and Zimnokh would square off with fourth-seed Isac Stromberg and Kai Milburn from Ole Miss in the finals. The Rebels claimed the opening round with a 6-4 victory, but the Crimson Tide pair fought their way back with a 6-4 decision in the second set. After trailing 6-3 early, Alabama would battle to tie the third set at 8-8. Ole Miss, however, claimed the next two points to secure the overall 6-4, 4-6, 10-8 win.
Olar and Zimnokh defeated five opponents over the course of the weekend, including 10th-seed Luciano Alcocer and Yeray Andres Paster from Troy and 13th-seed Marko Milosavljevic and David Krasner from Jacksonville State.

From Head Coach George Husack
“A real privilege to host this tournament. We are blessed with an incredible support staff that spent countless hours before and during this event that make this such a special experience for everyone.
“Our guys competed very well this weekend. They accepted many challenges and figured out ways to compete at a high level. Great run for Matic (Kriznik), Andrii and Jacob. They, along with their teammates, have made noticeable improvements this fall and will continue to do so in practice. There’s more tennis to play this month and next, so we will be back out there competing again soon.”
