
Women’s Golf Inks Isabella van der Biest to National Letter of Intent

The Crimson Tide adds the Tennessee native to its already talented roster
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –Alabama women’s golf head coach Mic Potter announced Thursday the signing of Isabella van der Biest to a National Letter of Intent.
A senior at Dobyns-Bennett in her hometown of Kingsport, Tenn., van der Biest will be eligible to compete for the Crimson Tide beginning in the 2021-22 season.

- The Big 11 player of the year honoree, van der Biest, won the 2018 Large School Girls State Championship and was runner-up this year.
- Averaged par or better all four years, through the course of 33 regular season matches and 22 tournaments, compiling an 18-hole stroke average of 69.8.
- Competed at the 2020 AJGA Girls Championship at the Furman Golf Club in Greenville, S.C.
- Her success includes a fifth-place finish at the 2020 Girls’ Junior Championship at the Three Ridges Golf Course hosted by the Tennessee Golf Association.
- Won the 2019 Tennessee Girls Junior PGA Championship at the River Bend Country Club in Shelbyville, Tenn., which allowed her to compete against the top female junior golfers in the 44th Girls Junior PGA Championship in Connecticut.
