Alabama Track and Field Sends Six to Pan American Games

The Crimson Tide contingent includes rising senior Natassha McDonald, sophomore to be Chago Basso, 2019 seniors Portious Warren and Mauricia Prieto, as well as alums Jereem Richards and Ruebin Walters
LIMA, Peru – Alabama track and field has six past and present All-Americans slated to compete at the Pan American Games, with things set to get underway Sunday in Lima, Peru.
The Crimson Tide contingent includes rising senior Natassha McDonald (Canada), sophomore to be Chago Basso (Chile) as well as 2019 seniors Portious Warren and Mauricia Prieto along with Jereem Richards and Ruebin Walters, all representing Trinidad and Tobago.
- 2019 senior All-American Portious Warren won the discus (151-10/46.29m) and was second in the shot put (54-10/16.71m) at the 2019 Trinidad Championships earlier this summer
- Former Tide All-American Jereem Richards won the 2019 Trinidad 200-meters title with a championship-record time of 20.14 and was second in the 100 meters with a personal best of 10.23
- Former UA All-American Ruebin Walters was second in the 110m hurdles at the 2019 Trinidad Championships after posting a time of 13.96
- 2020 senior All-American Natassha McDonald went 52.92 in the 400-meter final of the recent 2019 Canadian National Championships, taking seventh place
- 2019 senior All-American Mauricia Prieto took second in the 200 meters with a time of 23.09 and sixth in the 100 meters with a 11.54 at the 2019 Trinidad Championships
- Rising sophomore All-American Chago Basso will represent Chile in the games after advancing to the 2019 NCAA Outdoor Championships as a redshirt freshman
