Alabama Cross Country’s Noel Rotich Awarded SEC Men’s Freshman of the Week

Rotich led the Crimson Tide men with an 11th place individual finish at the Princeton Invitational
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Alabama cross country runner Noel Rotich was named the Southeastern Conference Men's Freshman of the Week for his season debut performance last weekend at the Princeton Invitational, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.
SEC Men's Freshman of the Week Honors
- Rotich, who finished No. 1 for Alabama in the men's 8K, placed 11th out of 240 participants with a time of 24:22.1 at the Princeton Invitational on Oct. 19.
- In his first race of the season, Rotich paced the Crimson Tide men to a seventh-place team finish.
- The Kapenguria, Kenya, native was the second freshman at the meet to cross the finish line, following Hofstra's Isa Suleiman (6th, 24:01.0).

Rotich and the Alabama cross country team will be back in action Friday, Nov. 1, at the SEC Championships in Lexington, Ky.
