Alabama Wraps Up Regular Season at Princeton, Pre-National Invitationals

Chelangat leads the Crimson Tide women, while Rotich leads the men on Saturday
TERRE HAUTE , Ind. – The Alabama men's and women's cross country teams concluded regular-season competition with the men in action at the Princeton Invitational in Princeton, N.J., and women at the Pre-National Invitational in Terre Haute, Ind., on Saturday.
Alabama men finished seventh overall, totaling 222 points from its scorers in the 8K at the Princeton Invitational. Meanwhile, the Crimson Tide women finished with three runners among the top-70 in the 6K and placed 19th in a highly competitive field that featured 37 teams.
Leading the Lineup for the Men
- Seven Alabama men crossed the finish line in the men's 8K in Princeton. Freshman Noel Rotich led the way with a solid 11th place performance (24:22.1).
- Then senior Elliott Miller (51st, 25:09.5), freshman Jacob Wiggers (58th, 25:14.6) and sophomore Elliot Gindi (72nd, 25:22.8) followed across the finish line.
- Junior Scott Platek (114th, 25:53.8) and freshman Nicholas Ceci (124th, 26:06.5) also competed Saturday.
Leading the Lineup for the Women
- For the second time this season, sophomore Mercy Chelangat crossed the finish line as the Crimson Tide's top scorer. The sophomore checked in at 20:46.6 to place 37th.
- Senior Rebecca Buteau secured a top-60 finish (54th, 20:58.4), while senior Haley Wright placed 166th (22:01.9) and sophomore Lauren Brackin (218th, 22:37.3) rounded out the scoring for the Alabama women.
