Alabama Men Remain No. 1 in First Regular Season USTFCCCA South Region Rankings

Crimson Tide women ranked No. 8 in the south region this week
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama men's cross country team held steady at its preseason No. 1 ranking while the Crimson Tide women check in at No. 8 in the first United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association South Region rankings of the 2018 regular season, released Monday by the USTFCCCA.
Alabama is joined by Ole Miss (3), Tennessee (5), Florida (6), Georgia (10) and Auburn (13) as one of six Southeastern Conference schools in this week's men's regional top 15.
The Crimson Tide remain in the top 10 in the women's South Region rankings, holding down the No. 8 spot. SEC rivals Georgia (1), Mississippi State (4), Tennessee (5), Ole Miss (6), Vanderbilt (7), Auburn (9) and Florida (11) join the Tide in this week's rankings.
The Crimson Tide men and women are off until they travel to Madison, Wis., for the Nuttycombe Invitational on Friday, Sept. 28. The meet will be one of the deepest of the regular season with 19 men's and 16 women's preseason top-30 programs scheduled to participate.
