
Alabama Women's Tennis Adds Isabella Harvison on National Signing Day

Mainz announces the addition of Harvison to the 2019 signing class
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women's tennis team and head coach Jenny Mainz add the highly-touted Isabella Harvison to the program as announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Harvison pledges to the Alabama 2019 freshman class out of Cardiff-by-the-sea, Calif.
"We're excited about Isabella Harvison joining our Alabama Tennis family," Mainz said. "Isabella represents all the characteristics that we seek in a student-athlete at the Capstone. She's a very talented tennis player with excellent character and integrity. She's going to be a leader on and off the tennis court."
Before moving to Spain, Harvison won both the singles and doubles Southern California regionals and sectionals, and has been ranked No. 1 in doubles and No. 5 in singles in Southern, Calif. Harvison is a USTA national doubles finalist, with a Women's ITF doubles ranking of 1190.
The California native, brings a ton of international experience as she has played in Spain, Portugal, Czech Republic, New Zealand, England, and Montenegro.
While living and competing extensively in Spain, Harvison has consistently been ranked in the 30s on the Spanish open ranking system, and had a UTR Rating as high as 11. Harvison has won eight Catalan Federation 18U tournaments, and has been a finalist of the Catalan Championships over 18s. This year she played in the singles and doubles semi-finals at the Spanish National Championships 18U.
"There's no question that Isabella will make an immediate and significant impact in our program," Mainz said. "She's got a big game and an even bigger upside. She's a gritty competitor and loves the battle."
Harvison speaks spanish fluently, and plans to major in nutrition while attending Alabama.
