Women?s Golf Downs Vanderbilt in Hooters Collegiate Match Play

KISSIMMEE, Fla. ?? The Alabama women's golf team took control in the first round of the Hooters Collegiate Match Play by downing SEC foe Vanderbilt 4-1-0 Sunday from the Ginn Reunion Resort. The Tide won four of the five matchups to move into second round action Monday morning.
The Florida Lady Gators swept Louisville, 5-0-0 and will face Alabama in a SEC match up on Monday. Second round action that was slated for today was suspended until tomorrow morning.
Camilla Lennarth downed Megan Grehan 3&2 while Kathleen Ekey defeated Liebelei Lawrence 3&1.
Laura Goodwin beat Brooke Godwin 4&3 and Rhea Nair took care of Jule Bartholomew 4&3. The lone defeat for the Tide was a close match between Helena Blomberg and Jacqui Concolino. Concolino edged Blomber 3&2.
Georgia, Auburn, Duke, Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Tennessee and Florida all won in the first round.
