The Jerry Pate Center at Ol' Colony Club was the place to be Friday as the University of Alabama golf program hosted the Crimson Tide Open there. The event was a fundraiser for the Conrad Rehling Endowment Fund at the University of Alabama.
Rehling is a retired UA golf coach who is a member of the golf coaching Hall of Fame and produced SEC Champions, All-Americans and a national powerhouse of a collegiate program at Alabama. He was among the many, including several of his former golfers, who gathered at the Jerry Pate Center for the event on Friday.
Among those who took part in the event were Tide Director of Athletics Mal Moore, former NFL and UA quarterbacks Joe Namath and Richard Todd, and former golfers like Tide All-American Alan Pate, Steve Lowery, Sam Farlow, and Cecil Ingram among others who gave back to their alma mater on Friday and had fun in the process. The event started with a barbeque lunch and included 18-holes of play at Ol' Colony Club, the Crimson Tide's home course.
