TUSCALOOSA – The University of Alabama volleyball hopes to continue its winning ways on Wednesday night when the Tide visits in-state rival Auburn for the final regular season road match of the season.

Alabama (18-7, 8-6 SEC) enters the match-up against Auburn (10-12, 5-9 SEC) having already secured a spot in next week’s SEC Tournament but looking to improve its seeding. The Tide and Tigers are both coming off impressive sweeps of Ole Miss and Mississippi State last weekend. Bama defeated Auburn, 3-0, in Tuscaloosa on Sept. 22 in the CAVE.

“The Auburn match is always an intense, emotional battle,” said UA head coach Judy Green, who has guided the Tide to nine consecutive victories over the Tigers. “This one will be even bigger as both teams are still fighting for something. We are looking to improve our seeding in the SEC Tourney while Auburn is battling to hold on to their spot in the event. We need to maintain the momentum we started last weekend as we begin our preparation for the postseason.”

Following their visit to “the Plains”, Alabama returns to Tuscaloosa for their regular season home finale on Sunday afternoon against Kentucky. The UK match has been designated “Senior Day” with a post-match tribute scheduled for the Tide’s senior trio of Erin Heffner, Julie Farley and Kory Tull.

Both matches this week will be broadcast live on the radio by WVUA 90.7 FM and simulcast on the internet at www.rolltide.com.
