BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Southeastern Conference presents its volleyball "Match of the Week" as the Alabama Crimson Tide travels to take on the South Carolina Gamecocks on Sunday.
Alabama and Head Coach Judy Green have posted an 8-6 overall record and are 3-2 in conference play this season. The Tide has been led by a number of players this season, including junior middle blocker Crystal Hudson, who is ranked 10th in the conference in attack percentage.

Libero/defensive specialist Amy Pauly was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week on September 18, and junior outside hitter Bridget Fuentez has shown strong play on both offense and defense, ranking second on the team in kills per game, digs and digs per game. Hudson leads the team in kills per game, while Pauly leads in digs and digs per game.
South Carolina, lead by Head Coach Nancy Somera, boasts a 10-6 record this season, with a 3-2 conference mark. The Gamecocks notched a key conference win on Sept. 17, when they defeated then-No. 6 Florida, 3-1.
Senior outside hitter Shoda Cole was named CSTV/AVCA National Player of the Week, as well as SEC Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 18 for her performances against then-No. 6 Florida and Auburn. Cole is ranked second in the nation in kills per game with a 6.02 average. Iris Santos has also put together a strong senior campaign. Santos is 29 kills away from becoming just the second Gamecock in school history to record 500 kills and 1,000 assists in a career and leads the Gamecocks in double-doubles this season with 6.
The match will take place at the Volleyball Competition Facility in Columbia, S.C.
