TUSCALOOSA -- University of Alabama rising sophomore setter Brigitte Slack is with a group of collegiate volleyball players on a competitive volleyball tour in Argentina from June 7-19.
Slack, a native of Ft. Wayne, Ind., earned SEC All-Freshman honors en route to setting the Tide to a 21-9 overall record and a share of the SEC Western Division crown last year. The team is coached by Colorado State head coach Tom Hilbert.
The group was invited by the Argentine Federation to come and help prepare the Argentinian Junior National Team prepare for summer competitions. The U.S. team will travel with and compete against the Junior National Team all around Buenos Aires and surrounding townships. Matches are expected to be played in front of raucous crowds of over 2,000 fans. In addition to playing the Junior Nationals, Team USA will also square off against the Youth National Team, a Senior "B" team and possibly some professional or under-22 club programs.
