"I liked the energy and passion we played with on the floor. We took down a pair of very competitive teams in Toledo and Furman. The way we came out, worked hard and competed as a team today is the way we need to approach every match." In the first match the Tide was led by sophomore Kayla Fitterer's 14 kills and senior Kayla Schmidt's 21 assists. Once again, sophomore Kelsey Anderson chipped in double-digit digs with 11 to lead all passers in the match. Senior Alyssa Meuth collected a combined 21 kills on the day with 11 against the Rockets and 10 versus the Paladins. "I thought Kayla Fitterer played an outstanding all-around match," Green added. "It was really nice to get two wins at home under our belt today, and we are looking forward to competing for another tomorrow." Alabama returns to action Saturday for the final day of the Bama Bash when it takes on UAB at 1 p.m.
