Birmingham, Ala. - Elizabeth Wilson, a junior thrower for the Alabama women's track and field team, has been named to the 2009 SEC Women's Track and Field Community Service Team. The SEC sponsors Community Service Teams for all 20 league sponsored sports. The Community Service Team looks to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to her community in superior service efforts.
Wilson has participated in 30+ volunteer hours at Glen Haven, University Village, Metro Animal Shelter and Reading to children at University Place Elementary School. The Huntsville, Ala. native also was named to the 2008 All-SEC Community Service Team, was named to the President's List (3 semesters), Dean's List (3 semesters), and is a member of Intercollegiate Athletics Committee, Phi Eta Sigma and Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
