Kayla Natale Wins the Pole Vault at the Alabama Relays
TUSCALOOSA, Ala The University of Alabama women’s track and field team closed out the annual Alabama Relays Sunday evening at Sam Bailey Track and Field Stadium on the Campus of the University of Alabama.
“We have a young team and some of the young girls are still making adjustment to from the indoor season and the different track size,” head coach Sandy Fowler said. “This meet gave us some ideas of areas we are a little weak.”
One highlight for the Tide Sunday afternoon was sophomore Kayla Natale winning the pole vault. She jumped a height of 11-09.75, six inched higher that the second place finisher.
“Kayla winning the pole vault was key for her,” Fowler said. “We have been working a lot on confidence and hopefully this puts her over the edge.”
The Tide will be off next weekend and will compete again at the Auburn Invitational on April 7.
