The University of Alabama women’s tennis team opens its season Friday at the UNLV Fall Invitational at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
Crimson Tide players will be competing with individuals from five other schools in the flighted tournament. Competitors from Oklahoma State, San Diego, Northern Arizona and New Mexico will participate.
“This is a great opportunity to get match play, which is really the thing we need most right now,” Alabama head coach Jenny Mainz said. “It will be nice to compete against other opponents besides ourselves.”
For the Tide, Robin Stephenson, Nathalie Koppelle, Melissa Minor and Mari Muller will compete in the event. Three ranked players are also scheduled to take part: No. 77 Emma Murphy (San Diego), No. 82 Lauren Perk (San Diego) and No. 97 Maja Kovacek (New Mexico).
