TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -
Coming off a solid performance at the Duke Fab Four Invite, the Crimson Tide women's tennis team will travel to Greenville, S.C., for the Furman Fall Classic. The tournament, featuring four teams that finished in the top 25 last season, will begin on Friday, Sept. 21, and end on Sunday, Sept. 23.
"This is another really good tournament," said Alabama head coach Jenny Mainz. "This is a flighted tournament, so it should be really competitive. The biggest thing for us right now is that we need to get matches. That is how you get better."
Alabama will get a good look at some of its Southeastern Conference opponents such as Vanderbilt, South Carolina and Tennessee, and it will also compete with out of conference teams in Furman, Florida State, Clemson and North Carolina. There are a total of 12 nationally-ranked singles players and six nationally-ranked doubles teams slated to compete.
The Tide will be represented at the tournament by junior Mary Anne Macfarlane, sophomores Yasmeen Ebada and Emily Zabor and freshmen Maya Jansen and Natalia Maynetto.
