Women's Tennis Opens Fall Season at Duke Fab Four Invite

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama women's tennis team will start off the 2013 fall season in Cary, N.C., at the Duke Fab Four Invitational, which will run Friday, Sept. 13, through Sunday, Sept. 15.. Representing the Crimson Tide will be junior Emily Zabor and freshmen Carmen Blanco, Erin Routliffe and Danielle Spielmann.

Matches begin at 10 a.m. on Friday with doubles where Routliffe and Spielmann are slated to take on Texas A&M's Christina Stancu and Stefania Hristov, while Blanco and Zabor will match up with Hanna Mar and Alyssa Smith of Duke. The second round of doubles will follow directly after the first.

In the first round of singles, Routliffe will face the Aggies' Mason Strickland, Zabor will meet up with Lauren Slater of North Carolina, Blanco will take on Florida's Olivia Janowicz and Spielmann will face the Blue Devils' Ester Goldfeld.
