TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The women's tennis team will be represented by a trio of student-athletes this week at the 2012 NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex in Athens, Ga. Junior Alexa Guarachi and sophomore Mary Anne Macfarlane will both compete in the singles draw, while Guarachi and senior Courtney McLanewere selected to the field of 32 for the doubles draw.
First round action pairs Guarachi against the No. 7 overall seed in Texas A&M's Cristina Sanchez-Quintanar at 9 a.m. CT on Tuesday, while Macfarlane is slated to take on Anais Dallara from Long Beach State at Noon CT. In doubles, Alabama's duo will face William and Mary's Maria Belaya and Jeltje Loomans on Thursday.
The Tide has already seen two of its three opponents this season as Macfarlane took on Sanchez-Quintanar at the USTA/ITA National Collegiate Indoor Championships, while McLane and Taylor Lindsey were matched up with Belaya and Loomans at the Duke Fab Four Invite.
