TUSCALOOSA, Ala.- The No. 62 Alabama women’s tennis team hosts Chattanooga Friday, Feb. 16 at 6:00 p.m. at the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility.
“We have emphasized individual needs this week and continue to look forward on making necessary adjustments,” said head coach Jenny Mainz. “We intend on using our experiences from last weekend’s matches to assist us in preparing for UT-Chattanooga. This is another opportunity to saddle up and play the big’ points with courage and authority.”
The Tide is 2-3 after splitting last weekend with then No. 69 Furman and Iowa. Both matches were close and came down to the bottom of the lineup, with Alabama beating Furman, 4-3 on Friday, and then falling to Iowa, 3-4 on Sunday. The team that lost the doubles point won the match in both contests.
Alabama is 4-6 against Chattanooga all-time, with the last meeting in 2003, when the Tide claimed a 7-0 shutout victory over the Mocs.
Chattanooga comes to the Capstone, 2-3, after defeating Memphis, 5-2, last weekend.
