Women's Tennis Enjoys Solid Start to Roberta Alison Fall Classic

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Alabama women’s tennis team picked up 10 wins on Friday at the Roberta Alison Fall Classic. The Crimson Tide has one doubles team remaining in main draw action as well as four singles players.

In the morning doubles session, Alabama went 1-1 with Carmen Blanco and Emily Zabor getting the win for the Tide, outlasting Loyola Marymount’s Jessica Perez and Julia Norlin, 8-7(6). Alabama then went on to dominate its singles matches, winning nine of the 10 contests it played in. Mary Anne Daines, Danielle Spielmann, Natalia Maynetto and Zabor will each compete for her respective draw title.

Match play resumes on Saturday at 9 a.m. CT with the final two rounds of doubles followed by the last round of singles.
