PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. - Alexa Guarachi battled back from a first-set loss to beat Texas Tech’s Samantha Adams, 6-7(2), 6-2, 7-6(3), in the qualifying singles back draw on Wednesday at the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships.

With the win, Guarachi was slated to take on Santa Clara’s Katie Le in the quarterfinals; however, Lee withdrew due to injury, advancing Guarachi onto Friday’s semifinals. Guarachi will take on the winner of the match between Kata Szekely of Tennessee and Virginia’s Li Xi.

Main draw action at the All-American Championships will begin on Thursday as well and will feature Mary Anne Macfarlane in singles as well as Guarachi and Macfarlane in doubles. Macfarlane will face Stanford’s Krista Hardebeck, who played her way into the main draw from the qualifying draw, at 12:45 p.m. CT. In doubles, the Tide duo is scheduled to face Southern California’s Gabriella DeSimone and Zoe Scandalis, who also came out of the qualifying draw, at 11 a.m. CT.
