Crimson Tide Finishes Strong at Furman Fall Classic

GREENVILLE, S.C. - The women's tennis team won four of the five matches it competed in on Sunday at the Furman Fall Classic, bringing its three-day win total to 17.

Erin Routliffe went 3-0 in singles to take home the title in her draw, downing Florida State's Kerri Cartwright, 6-3, 6-3, in the finals. Mary Anne Daines, Emily Zabor and Carmen Blanco also added wins for the Crimson Tide, each placing third in their respective draws.

Next up, Daines and Routliffe will head to California for the Riviera/ITA All-American Championships. The qualifying rounds will begin on Oct. 1, while main draw action is set to start on Oct. 3.
