Maya Jansen and Erin Routliffe Win in Straight Sets to Move on to NCAA Quarterfinals

ATHENS, Ga. - Maya Jansen and Erin Routliffe continued to cruise in the NCAA Doubles Championship, winning 6-3, 6-3 on Friday in the round of 16 against Georgia State's Masa Grgan and Abigail Tere-Apisah. With the win, the Crimson Tide advances to Saturday's quarterfinals and will face Miami's Monique Albuquerque and Clementina Riobueno.

Jansen and Routliffe got off to a quick start in the first set, winning three-straight games. Grgan and Tere-Apisah were able to pick up a break, setting the score at 3-2, however the Tide duo would go on to win three of the final four games to win the set, 6-3. In the second, Jansen and Routliffe again grabbed an early break, but a pair of games for the Panthers would even the set at 3-3. From there, it was all Alabama as Jansen and Routliffe captured the last three games for the victory.
