Alabama's fourth-seeded team of Maya Jansen
and Erin Routliffe
posted a 6-3, 6-2 victory over Southern California's 11th-ranked team of Giuliana Olmos and Zoë Scandalis on Thursday in the NCAA Doubles Championship round of 32. With the win, the Crimson Tide advances to Friday's round of 16 to face 25th-ranked Masa Grgan and Abigail Tere-Apisah from Georgia State.
The first set was on serve at 3-3, but a break for Alabama in the seventh game gave the Tide a 4-3 edge. Another break went in Jansen and Routliffe's favor to end the set, 6-3. The second started on serve as well, but the Alabama duo would go on to win the final four games for their sixth-straight victory together.
