TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Alabama softball team will close out its fall schedule this weekend hosting the second and third edition of the 2010 Fall Brawl. The first game of the weekend will feature Alabama taking on Central Alabama Community College at 4 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 22. Admission is $5 each day, charged at the gate, as part of the Alabama Diamondbackers fall fundraiser.

Central Alabama and Chattanooga will join the Tide as the participants for Fall Brawl II on Friday. After the opening game against CACC, Alabama will face off against Chattanooga. The Lady Mocs are led by seniors Lyndsey Stiles and Tiffany Baker. Stiles led UTC last season in batting average (.342), hits (64) and runs scored (36), while Baker led the team in slugging percentage (.669), on-base percentage (.487), doubles (9), home runs (14) and runs batted in (41).

Saturday the Crimson Tide will close out its 2010 fall slate with Fall Brawl III. Wallace State and Samford will provide the competition for the third and final tournament. Alabama will face Wallace State at 2 p.m., before playing its last fall game of the year against Samford at 4 p.m. The matchup between Samford will be the first for the new Bulldogs coaching staff against their alma mater.

Former Tide great Stephanie VanBrakle now serves as Samford's head coach with fellow Capstone alums Mandy Burford and Kellie Eubanks serving as assistant coaches. The new staff will look to polish young talents such as Robyn Harmon this season. Harmon showed promise in limited action last season batting at a .345 clip at the plate and claiming a 2.10 earned run average in the circle, both of which were team bests.

Alabama will look to defend its Southeastern Conference Championship this spring when the Tide takes the field in February. The 2011 schedule will be released in the coming weeks. Multimedia coverage will continue to be provided for the remainder of Alabama's games this fall with all games available through GameTracker, TideTV and live game blogs, all of which can be accessed from the fall schedule available here.
