TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The 2012 national champion Alabama softball team returned to the field on Wednesday for its first practice of the fall season in preparation for the 2012 Fall Brawl schedule.

After celebrating the 2012 Southeastern Conference championship on Friday and receiving their national championship rings on Saturday at halftime of the Alabama football game at Bryant-Denny Stadium, the Crimson Tide begins to turn their focus to the seven games on four separate days in anticipation of the 2013 softball season.

"After a great celebration weekend, all of us are very excited to get started again on the field," Alabama head coach Patrick Murphy said. "I think there is more excitement around here than ever before prior to a fall season."

The Crimson Tide begins their first Fall Brawl of 2012 on Saturday, October 20, with a doubleheader against Northwestern State (La.) at Rhoads Stadium. First pitch of game one will be at Noon, and admission will be $5 for the entire day.

UA returns on Sunday to play another doubleheader, this time against Anderson University (S.C.) with first pitch starting at noon as well.
