Softball has Three Named to WCWS All-Tournament Team

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - The No. 4 seed Alabama softball team had three players named to the 2009 Women's College World Series All-Tournament team, as voted upon by members of the media after the conclusion of the championship game. Seniors Brittany Rogers, Kelley Montalvo and Junior Charlotte Morgan garnered the honors for the Crimson Tide. The three selections is a program best for Alabama.
"Brittany, Kelley and Charlotte had a great impact for this team not only this past week but on the entire season," Alabama head coach Patrick Murphy said. "From all the emails and calls that have been coming in it is clear that these three along with the entire team shed the University in a positive manner."
Montalvo led the trio with a .462 (6-for-13) batting average. Her six hits and four runs also paced the team. The senior added three RBI and a stolen base.
Rogers batted .357 (5-for-14) with three runs and a RBI. The senior led the team with five stolen bases to finish her career with a program record 198 thefts.
Morgan was named to the team for the second consecutive season. The junior batted .308 (4-for-13) with two runs and three RBI. The All-American hit a home run and slugged a team-best .615. Morgan finished the season just one RBI shy of the Alabama all-time record of 191 set by Kelly Kretschman.
