TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Texas and Mississippi Valley State took to the field nearly 24 hours after game five of the NCAA Softball Tuscaloosa Regional was suppose get underway after extensive weather delays slowed things down Saturday as well as Sunday morning.

Texas came away with seven hits, scoring a run in the third inning to get on the board. The Longhorns followed that by two solo homeruns in the sixth inning and added another run in the top of the seventh to round out the scoring. Brittany Barnhill picked up the win for Texas, going to 26-14 on the season while Lisa Jansen took the loss for MVSU, falling to 15-8.

Texas returns to action immediately in the regional championship game against Alabama starting at 4 p.m. If Texas beats the undefeated Crimson Tide a seventh game will be played to determine the regional champion.
