The fourth-ranked Crimson Tide softball team (44-8) closes out its home schedule Wednesday night when they host the Southern Miss Golden Eagles (26-33).
Alabama will be looking to exact some revenge on Southern Miss as they handed the Tide its second loss of the season back in February, a 3-2 setback in Hattiesburg.
The Crimson Tide leads the all-time series with Southern Miss 3-2 and is 7-1 against teams from the Magnolia State this season.
Bama is led by sophomore Jordan Praytor who has a team best .426 batting average. Senior Staci Ramsey provides the power in the lineup with a team high nine home runs and 48 RBI.
The Tide pitching responsibilities fall on the shoulders of senior Stephanie VanBrakle and sophomore Chrissy Owens. VanBrakle leads the staff with a 24-4 record and 289 strikeouts in 185.0 innings. Owens has a staff best 0.81 ERA.
The game will also mark the final Legends Day celebration of the 10th Anniversary season. Former All-American Jackie McClain will be honored as the Legend.
The two teams will play one game scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at the UA Softball Stadium. Fans can follow all the action at www.rolltide.com where live stats and audio will be available. In the Tuscaloosa area, fans can tune into WVUA 90.7 FM where Nic Hoch will call all the balls and strikes.
