Upon release of the latest ESPN.com/USA Softball Top 25, the University of Alabama found itself ranked 18th for the third straight week but up two spots in the latest USA Today/NFCA poll.

The Crimson Tide posted a 5-0 mark over the week including a three-game sweep of SEC East division  rival Kentucky.

In the ESPN.com poll the Tide is joined by the Georgia Bulldogs, LSU Tigers and South Carolina Gamecocks who occupy the Nos. 11, 12 and 13 spots in the poll as the only SEC schools to be ranked.  The Florida Gators and Mississippi State Bulldogs are both receiving votes.

The Georgia Bulldogs check in at No. 9, the LSU Tigers No. 11 and the South Carolina Gamecocks No. 15 in the USA Today/NFCA poll.  The biggest difference between the two polls is that the Florida Gators made their first appearance in either top 25 this year, showing up at No. 25 in the USA Today poll.

The Crimson Tide will tour the Pelican State this week as the team travels to Louisiana-Lafayette to take on the Lady Cajuns, who are receiving votes in the poll.  Alabama will then travel to Baton Rouge for a big SEC showdown with the LSU Tigers.

The USA Today/National Fastpitch Coaches Association Division I Top 25 is voted on by 20 NCAA Division I head coaches. Records are as of March 24. First-place votes are in parentheses.
