TUSCALOOSA, Ala. –Alabama softball’s previously scheduled game for Tuesday, March 4 at Samford University has been postponed. Both teams have agreed to look for a future date.
From an official release from the Samford University athletics department, the contest has been postponed due to the passing of Justin Holcombe (26), the brother of Samford assistant coach Ashley Holcombe Bell. Bell played at Alabama from 2006-09 and is in her third season as an assistant coach at Samford.
The Crimson Tide will resume play this weekend at home, facing South Carolina in a three-game series to open SEC play. The games are set for Friday, March 7 at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, March 8 at 2 p.m. and Sunday, March 9 at 1:30 p.m.
