Josie Rix Named to SEC Soccer Community Service Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Alabama senior defender Josie Rix (Signal Mountain, Tenn.) was named to the Southeastern Conference Community Service team, the league office announced Tuesday.
Rix has been a staple in the Tuscaloosa community and her hometown area of Signal Mountain, Tenn. Rix helped with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and volunteered with Kids on the Block.
Rix has also helped the team in countless projects in the community such as Project Angel Tree, visits to the soup kitchen, the Magnet School's Magic Festival, Habitat for Humanity and most recently the Halloween Extravaganza.
The senior played in 55 career matches, earning the start 40 times, splitting time in the midfield and on defense for the Crimson Tide. She recorded two career points on two assists. Rix fired off 28 shots and put seven on goal.
On the defensive side, Rix was a part of 12 shutouts and helped hold opponents to one goal or less 19 times and tallied 31 wins at Alabama over the course of her career.
