TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Alabama senior defender Kendall Khanna was selected to the CoSIDA/Capital One Academic All-District IV team, it was announced on Thursday.
It marks the first time since 2007 that a Crimson Tide soccer player has earned first team academic honors (Kailey Corken) and is the second all-academic honoree under head coach Todd Bramble (Brooke Rogers named second team in 2010).
Khanna has been a steady presence for the Tide all season. She has collected two goals and two assists for six points on the year. She ranks fifth on the team in goals and points and is fourth in assists.
Off the pitch, Khanna maintains a 4.0 grade point average as a public relations major. She is a three-time member of the SEC Academic Honor Roll and was named to the President's List in four semesters and to the Dean's List two semesters.
A native of Littleton, Colo., Khanna becomes just the sixth Alabama soccer player to earn CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team honors.
With her first-team honors, Khanna is now eligible for a spot on the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballot, when first, second and third-team All-America honorees will be selected in November.
